Royal Horticultural Society – The Malvern Show 2019 Silver Award Winners – ‘The Redshift’ Garden

In May this year, we had the pleasure of working alongside Rockhopper Garden Design at the Royal Horticultural Society Malvern Show.

Designing and constructing a show garden was something neither us nor Julie (RGD) had been a part of before and so needless to say we were all very excited and ready for the long drive up to the Three Counties Showground.

With the help of our sponsor, the Institute of Physics, Julie designed ‘The Red shift’ garden to celebrate how telescopes have helped us to develop an understanding of our universe.

The beginning stages of the build included setting and marking out within our allocated patch at the showground and laying the concrete base for the ‘Earth’ section, of the garden.

This centre piece comprised an outstanding quote panel by Stark and Greensmith and an impressive sculpture by Julie Grose Metal Design.

We also installed beautiful oak benches by Factory Furniture and Sandstone Cobbles by London Stone; all of which were complemented by a fabulous array of planting and colourful flowers.

Just before the show welcomes it’s visitors, the garden entrees are judged and critiqued and we were proudly awarded a Silver Medal for The Redshift. All of us worked extremely hard on this project and were over the moon with the finished garden.
